News watch May 2012 today's obd2 industry news

Underneath the fresh suit of clothes lies the familiar VH aluminium-intensive architecture that underpins most of the current Aston Martin range. The platform is good for several more years, according to top brass, but it will be fettled for the DBS successor. Saab officially filed for bankruptcy in December 2011 and remains in administration. According to Swedeish law, a bankrupt company can still be bought out, and so a slim chance for survival remains and the administrators have now closed the bidding process to buy the remnants of the collapsed obd2 maker. Audi is planning on making a greater contribution to that annual production figure, with the usual three-door A3 hatch being joined by a five-door Sportback, soft-top A3 Cabriolet, and that darling of the German prestige brands, a 'four-door coupe'. There will be two specification levels, both powered by the higher-tune 236bhp/398 lb ft 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine used in the Thema. On the fuel economy front Chrysler is claiming a combined economy figure of 39.8mpg, and emissions of 185-191g/km depending on the wheels/tyres specified. Those figures put the 300C at the torquier end of the 3.0-litre diesel exec class, but battling the Infiniti M30d at the lower end of the thrifty-and-green front. With European big obd2 buyers' preference for diesel there's no sign of the 3.6-litre V6 or 'Hemi' 5.7-litre V8 petrol engines offered in other markets. The new name is a move that shadows the structure of the Audi and Mercedes-Benz model ranges. The A5 Sportback, coupe and convertible are all more prestigious and expensive than the more mainstream A4 models, and the E-class Coupe and Cabriolet fetch E-class money in spite of their well-concealed C-class genes. That would point to similar engines; the Mokka uses a 1.4 and 1.6 petrol, with the choice of a 1.7 turbodiesel. Most models in Europe would be front-wheel drive, but GM's platform can serve up four-wheel drive to territories demanding better traction for slippery roads. The heated seats really could do with a button rather than necessitating a delve into the slow touchscreen system, but your bum is soon warm, the cabin is bathed in classy turquoise light, and much to the chagrin of whoever steps into the obd2 after me, to keep me awake BBC 1xtra is pulsating loudly through the speakers.
